The Terms of Payment are effective from 1 July 2025 and are subject to review and change at any time.
Initial Appointment – Medicare and Private Fee Paying Clients
Credit card details are required at your first appointment. Credit card details will be encrypted and securely stored on our online payment platform, “Stripe”. Stripe is our preferred payment method. All sessions are payable at the time of the consultation and will be charged through Stripe. Credit card details are entered directly into Stripe and are not recorded, held or stored by Indigo Psychology. Indigo Psychology staff cannot view or access client credit card details once they have been entered into Stripe. Clients are responsible for advising Indigo Psychology when their credit card details change.
Third-Party Funded Clients
Where services are being funded by a third party (e.g., an insurer), the individual client is still required to provide credit card details in line with Indigo Psychology’s Cancellation Policy.
NDIS Funded Clients
Where services are funded through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), clients are required to provide the full contact details of the person or organisation responsible for receiving and processing invoices. This ensures timely and accurate billing for services delivered.
Assessments
Upon invoicing, assessments can be paid for through Stripe or via direct transfer. Indigo Psychology will withhold the release of any assessment reports until full payment has been received.
Medicare Rebates
A Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) may be obtained from your General Practitioner (GP) or a referral from a Psychiatrist or Paediatrician as part of the Australian Government’s Better Access Scheme to help cover the cost of psychological therapy. A valid MHTP will be required and must be provided to be eligible for a Medicare rebate service. It must be dated before the appointment date to be applied and claimed. The current Medicare rebate of $98.95 per session will be applied.
Please be advised that the total service cost is required for Indigo Psychology to process rebates. Once payment has been received in full and all Medicare details have been provided, the rebate will be processed and generally settled within 24 hours into the bank account linked to your Medicare.
Unfortunately, due to reasons beyond our control, there may be unsuccessful claims on our end. If this is the case, we will notify you and ask that you claim through Medicare in their app or at a clinic.
Private Health Rebates
Indigo Psychology does not process private health rebates. Once payment has been received, Indigo Psychology will provide you with a receipt, and you can manually submit your invoice to your health fund to receive your rebate.
Reports
Indigo Psychology will withhold the release of any reports or documentation until full payment has been received.
Debt Collection
Stripe will be used for any overdue invoices, and receipts will be sent to you upon successful payment. If your credit card is declined, you will be contacted, and payment will be reattempted within seven days. If still unsuccessful, we will reattempt weekly until the outstanding amounts have been collected. Invoices not paid within 28 days will be referred to Indigo Psychology’s debt recovery team, and the client will be responsible for all costs associated with debt recovery. No reports, documentation or services will be provided until the outstanding debt is fully recovered. Weekly reminders and emails are sent to prompt payment in the lead-up to the account being referred to our debt collection team for recovery.
Credits
If you incur a credit on your account, it will be held on file and applied towards future sessions. If this is not suitable, refunds will be paid directly into your bank account or refunded via Stripe. This process can take 5-10 days.
Refunds
Both the client and Indigo Psychology have the right to terminate any service agreement for any reason, including the termination of services that are already underway. No refunds shall be offered where an appointment is deemed to have begun and is, for all intents and purposes, underway. If the client/customer engages in or completes an appointment, refunds are not possible, irrespective of the outcome of the session/s. Indigo Psychology makes no warranties or guarantees that psychological treatments and other services facilitated by psychologists are suitable for the person receiving them; treatment provided by psychologists will be effective; psychological tests, surveys and assessment tools are free from defects or are effective diagnostic tools.
Cash
Indigo Psychology is a cashless facility, and we do not accept cash payments.
